For each lesson, below are the assignments to do ahead of time. The links will provide you materials to watch and read in preparation for the next class.

7. Ephesians – The Power and Identity of God’s Family

Watch: NT Letters – Literary Ep.3 (Bible Project)

Read Scripture: Ephesians 1-6

Read Excerpt: Peterson, Practice Resurrection, p.79-84

Ponder: How do we answer the question, “Who am I”? How much does a child’s understanding of this question come from his upbringing and his family? Do the terms “child”, “son”, “daughter” define one’s identity? How would your understanding of identity be affected if you were abandoned or orphaned as a child? How would your understanding of identity be affected if you were adopted as a child? When a father tells his teenage son who is leaving home, “Don’t forget who you are,” what does he mean? How do “who you are” and “what you do” relate to each other?
