For each lesson, below are the assignments to do ahead of time. The links will provide you materials to watch and read in preparation for the next class.

6. Corinth – Family Crisis and the Spirit’s Response

Watch: NT Letters – Historical Ep.2 (Bible Project)

Read Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1; 1 Corinthians 13

Read Excerpt: Peterson, The Invitation: 1 Corinthians, p.173-174

Ponder: Have you ever experienced trying to help or guide someone you loved and having them get angry or push back against your help? Why does that happen? Why do disputes about faith and religion often lead to raised voices and talking over each other? What should we do in these situations? Should we expect that all the members of a church will all express their beliefs in the exact same way? What things are ok to disagree on and what do we need to agree on? What was the first thing the Apostle Paul was concerned about dealing with in Corinth?
